Economic Impact
Direct employment for Egyptian farmers and agricultural workers in Al-Beheira and Cairo Governorates. Payments flow back into the local economy, supporting rural livelihoods and development near our facilities.
At PHATRADE, sustainability is woven into every stage of our work, from the fields where our crops grow to the shipment of the finished ingredient. Responsible sourcing and transparent practices are the foundation of a supply chain that endures.
PHATRADE has cultivated and sourced its aromatic raw materials from Egyptian soil since its founding in 1975. Our own farm in Al-Beheira Governorate, near Sadat City, produces bitter orange flowers, geranium, basil, and violet.
By eliminating intermediary steps and keeping the entire supply chain close to home, PHATRADE guarantees the traceability and freshness that B2B buyers in fragrance, flavour, and cosmetic industries demand. Sourcing locally is both a logistical advantage and a community commitment.

Our farm is less than 100 km from our extraction facility in Sadat City, significantly reducing transportation versus importing equivalent crops from overseas, resulting in lower fuel consumption and a reduced carbon footprint per kilogram of finished oil.
Every PHATRADE essential oil travels a deliberate, controlled journey, from the soil of our Egyptian farm to a labelled, documented ingredient ready for your formulation.
Crops are grown on our own farm in Al-Beheira Governorate. Each species is cultivated to its optimal growing season, with harvest timing managed to capture peak aromatic content.
Fresh plant material is processed immediately at our Sadat City facility by steam distillation or solvent extraction. With 4 lines, 15 extractors, 7 distillers, ensuring large harvests are handled promptly.
Every batch undergoes GC analysis at our Obour City laboratory. A retained sample is archived with the full batch record, providing end-to-end traceability from harvest to shipment.
Approved batches are packaged and dispatched from Obour City, 15 minutes from Cairo Airport, with TDS, SDS, and Certificate of Analysis included for every consignment.
On our farm in Al-Beheira Governorate, careful attention to each crop's natural growing cycle underpins both the aromatic quality of the finished ingredient and the long-term health of the land. We work with each plant's seasonal rhythm, not against it.
Four aromatic species grown on our own land, each harvested at the moment of peak aromatic concentration.
Citrus aurantium
Hand-harvested blossoms at peak spring bloom. Trees pruned to sustain consistent annual yield without depleting productive life.
Pelargonium graveolens
Row cultivation for foliar health. Tops harvested pre-maturity at peak aroma concentration. Successive harvests extend each planting cycle.
Ocimum basilicum
Planting timed to favour linalool development. Harvested pre-flowering; irrigation managed to prevent aromatic dilution and root disease.
Viola odorata
Harvested at dawn to minimise aromatic loss from heat. Soil prepared with organic matter to sustain ionone-rich production across seasons.
